Dealing With Personal Disappointment

I think I’ve lost a little more patience than I’d like. I got a little upset today over a trick or treater who asked for additional candy. There wasn’t any visible signs of anger. I didn’t swat the little pirate off of my porch, but I could feel that brief blast of anger surge through my veins. Immediately afterward I felt bad about it. How could I get upset at a child who is simply excited to get some candy?
I think the lesson here is to keep things in perspective. Stress at work, broken things around the house, and any other aspect of life that adds stress is only a temporary roadblock. Keep your head up, and remember the simple things in life.
Simple things like the smile on a child’s face when he gets a little more candy than he’s supposed to for just one day.
