JustinSpeak A Look Inside the Mind of Justin Schmidt

To the Left! To the Left! To the Right! To the Right!

I don't like pundits. Why must we have them? Is it really necessary for Tucker Carlson and Michael Moore to be so single sided? Ugh...

If it were up to me, there would be a law requiring any obviously biased program to have a little ticker would scroll across the bottom of the screen reading "In case you didn't know, this is only one side of the story." After the O'reilly factor, there would be an immediate rebuttal program from whoever you'd consider his best opposite. During that show we'd have the same ticker moving across the image. Once both windbags are done bashing each other and making fallacy ridden, illogical arguments we'd follow up with a special show where we dock the pundits' pay for each bullshit comment they made. In order to have a politically motivated talk show, you have to submit to this system of fines for bullshit.

I'm not saying people can't express their own opinions. There is nothing wrong with disagreeing with somebody. What aggravates me is the tunnel vision these people have when stating their views. Everyone in this country has the right to speak their mind. All I ask is that you don't yell and call people names or make completely outlandish claims without seeing the truths of the other side of the argument.

Ever watch Jon Stewart interview someone he probably doesn't agree with on most issues? He's probably the closest thing we have to an even keeled political media persona.

If you, my dearest reader, have anything you feel passionately about and wish that the rest of the world thought the way you do, then heed my advice. You must inform yourself of all the benefits of the opposite opinion before you huff and puff about your opinion. If you don't and you treat everyone that disagrees like an intellectual inferior, the only thing you accomplish is further distancing yourself from actually getting your point across.

That and being really fucking pathetic. No one wants to hear your shit unless you're willing to listen, understand, and sympathize.
