I just got a lovely dog.  She’s a Spaniel, Terrier, Saint Bernard, Collie, Fluffy thing. We got her from a local no kill shelter in Saint Louis. I’ve always thought that no kill shelters were the greatest thing ever.  Well, it turns out that PETA doesn’t think so. In fact, PETA discouages no kills. Rather than donate to one of these shelters, go the Bob Barker route.

Spay and neuter your pets! I agree with PETA that there should be a law that says any dog taken in to any shelter must go through a sterilization process before anything else happens. I also agree that puppy mills should be shut down.  The problem is that people get enamored with a breed of a dog but don’t want to pay the premium price of a legit breeder.  There is, of course, nothing wrong with getting a full bred dog so long as the animal doesn’t come from some bullshit shady source.  It’s like anything else, do your research before you make your purchase. If you find out about a puppy mill, report the sick bastards.

Don’t buy animals from any shop in a mall either.

My awesome girlfriend turns 27 today.  Any birthday is a good birthday, but for LIndsey, this is the once in a lifetime tuna seven. Everyone look towards Saint Louis and wish the most amazing woman in the world happy birthday.

I wrote this really sweet “Happy Mother’s Day” post and thought I published it, but Wordpress ate my post! I hate it when that happens. Oh well, we’ll try again…

All day I’ve been like, “I’m gonna get to bed early tonight.” Guess what, didn’t happen. Can anyone give me some real pointers on falling asleep?

So we all know those bullshit stories of rubbing potatoes on warts and then burying the potato to cure the wart. Didn’t know about that? Yeah, that is some GG (that’s what we called my great grandmother Alice Kraeger) magic right there.

I loved GG, but come on, really? Here is a Web site that has some home remedies that actually work. For example, my co worker Beth burnt her tongue. The trick in here about putting sugar on your tongue really worked.
