The Rams Suck09.21.08

I’m watching the Seattle Seahawks roll through the Rams today and I’m really beginning to get a little depressed about this whole thing.  The Rams are pretty shitty.  They just have no “oomph” behind anything they do.  The offense looks flat, the defense can’t stop a damn thing, and the coaching staff looks like a deer in the headlights.  The only bright spot is our kicker and punter.  It is a shame when a football team’s best player is the punter.  He is getting a lot of practice.

According to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the Rams’ all time record is 520-478-20. So we’re still in the black.

Anyone in Saint Louis really want Scott Linehan to stay around? I sure as shit don’t.  What a bum.

Tell you what Ramlets, finish the season with a division title and make me eat my words.

NBC Olympic Control Room08.10.08

The Live Video Control Room at NBCOlympics.com is the coolest thing ever. You can watch up to four events at once, assign different video to different screens, jump from sport to sport, enlarge a video if you’re particularly interested and there are other features I’m still learning.  This is major cool.  I wish Joost would have been able to do this (I like supporting the little guy).  Speaking of supporting the little guy, Micrsoft’s Silverlight technology really seems to be making a name for itself here.  Yeah, its a Flash alternative, but if NBCOlympics.com is taste of the potential of Silverlight, then I guess we have room for another fancy Internet technology.

Olympic Opening Ceremonies08.09.08

So I’m watching the Olympic Ceremony right now and I must say the “creative” portion was the coolest thing I’ve ever seen.  I imagine the man or woman in charge of London’s 2012 opening ceremony drinking heavily and repeating “shit” over and over again.

I’ll also say this, the parade of nations is the longest most boring thing ever.  Just light the fucking flame already so we can all get on with our lives.

Major kudos to Lindenwood University for getting a mention during the ceremony.

Final Four Time04.04.08

Okay, we’re down to four teams.  Three of these teams are actual college level basketball teams, the other is an NBA team.  A wolf in sheep’s clothing.

My pick? UNC beats Kansas, Memphis boat races UCLA, Memphis clobbers UNC.

Your 2008 NCAA Champ: Memphis

Late March / Early April Madness03.24.08

I love March Madness. It’s pretty cool. I just wish all of college basketball was this exciting. I think my biggest problem with the sport of basketball is that, unlike football or baseball, the game doesn’t mean shit until the last two minutes of the game. Basketball can have the most insane endings of any sport we have.

Story of the tournament thus far = Duke. What a disappointment.
